I'll second the plug for Stupice tomatoes. I live just east of San
Francisco, where summers are just as cool but not quite as foggy, and
this is one of the best tomatoes I've been able to grow. I was happy
with the size (I like small tomatoes) and the taste.
Unfortunately, this summer I'm not going to have a vegetable garden at
all, since I'm planning major havoc in my back yard during the summer,
removing an aged crumbling "garage" (quotes because I doubt there has
ever been a car parked on its wooden floor) to gain more use of my
25 by 40 foot space. The current plan is to use the garage space for
a toolshed and patio or lawn (depending on what I find underneath)
and the rest of the area for raised beds. If I'm lucky, I'll have
it sufficiently set up to plant some fall crops.
Meanhile, I've got a potted cherry tomato plant and will probably pot
some herbs and put them on the porch.
