Re: Enclosing raised beds

The text of "EPA Consumer Information Sheet on CCA, ACA, and ACZA
Treated Wood" is posted at
"http://www.umsl.edu/~silvest/garden/ccamsds.html". It doesn't
specificially address gardening applications but the warning: "Do not
use treated wood under cumstances where the preservative may become a
component of food.." probably covers it. There is also the OG concern
about killing off benefical micro organisms in the soil. I've also
observed many insects seem to thrive under railroad ties. But with all
of the concerns and warnings about using ties and pt wood, I've
concluded raised dirt berms are best for my situation.,
