I have decided that it must be possible to over-pamper Atlantic Giant
pumpkin seeds. I wrapped several in wet paper towels, enclosed in plastic
bags, to pre-sprout. I planted several more in plastic pots filled with
planting mix which was kept evenly moist and warm. The remainder I direct
seeded into a fairly dry spot in the garden and forgot about. The talley so
far is; pre-sprout: 0% germination, pots: 33% germination, and (after a good
rain) direct seeded: 85% germination! Has anyone else had a similar experience?
