hello from Sydney

Hi Veggie people, I've just joined this list. I'm in Sydney, in an inner city suburb called Canterbury. Our summer is over, it was a disaster growing wise, we had probably 20 inches of rain in the last 4-5 months so everything turned into goo. Weirdly though, the pumpkins didn't get mildew this year. The only success was with snake beans and chillis. Snake beans are great, 4 plants kept our family of 5 supplied from December to April. i didn't have to feed them or anything. I think they'd grow in warmer parts of the US, i don't know about England though. The only chillis i grew were cayenne this year, I still have a freezer full of last years jalapeno, habanero, yugoslav, bullet, thai and serrano. Its hard getting interesting seeds for chillies here, our quarantine laws prevent you from importing anything. Anyway, hello again, looking forward to communicating with you all.
