Despite my initial missgivings I am happy to report that slugs do like
committing suicide in beer. I am in the process of clearing the little
swine out of my greenhouses using small plastic party cups planted to
ground level and quarter filled with draught beer. I nailed 32 slugs in 10
cups on the first night. Fantastic.
Some time ago someone suggested using a mix of yeast, sugar and water to
start a fermentation that might be as attractive as beer to the slugs. Can
anyone in the group confirm that this works?
