I guess I come from the lazy group of gardeners, because I started just
tilling in, my refuge, leave grass clipping, and everything else I could
find years ago, and left it up to nature. I have 5 raised beds and each year
I just stack all the stuff up on a idle bed and in the fall till it in. I
has been working well for me for 20 years, so I guess it works. I suggest
you lay down a layer of vegetable material, then a layer of soil. Mix the
two together, then start another layer etc, till your beds are full, and as
you say let nature takes its course.
