Hi all,
I didn't plant any okra, but suddenly, just when I had about given up after
a cooler than normal, wet summer, my peppers are coming in! Lots of sweet
orange bells, jalapeņos, and (finally!) some poblanos. Also am still
picking a few Sun Gold tomatoes -- not many, but enough for the occasional
salad for two. Chard and chicory are still growing like mad -- just
harvested some broccoli, but it's a constant battle against cabbage moth
(and other) caterpillars --
Does anyone have any organic suggestions for deterring these little beasts?
We just had some kohlrabi from the garden last night and still have a few
plants growing very slowly.
I'm still sowing lettuce seeds at weekly intervals and will continue to do
so as long as they continue to sprout. Have had some lovely, sweet bib
lettuce this week from seed that I gathered this spring.
The herb garden is still going strong, including the annuals, like basil.
Oh, and camomile is growing wild all over the place.
I guess that's about it. I do have some brussels sprouts growing, but I'm
not sure I'll be getting any. I think they were planted too late.
