It's very quiet on this list, I hope you are AOK
Just to get things going a bit here are two contributions from another
list over here
First here's a seasonal recipe
Green Tomato Marmalade
______________________
Ingredients
4lbs Green Tomatoes
3lbs Sugar
2 lemons
1/2 pint water
a few lumps of ginger
Method
______
Boil sugar and water to a thin syrup. Slice tomatoes thinly and chop up.
Cut lemon finely as for marmalade.
Add these and the ginger lumps and bring to the boil.
Stir and skim, boil gently until a little will "gell" on a cool plate.
Remove ginger and pot up.
And now all about my faq service.
You are welcome to participate.
Question 1
What is an faq?
Answer
This is. In other words you have asked a frequently asked question and this is a stock answer.
If you were to ask a question on the kitchen garden list somebody may reply or not. Further it would usually be an impromptu reply which most people might not want and people would generally delete it.
By having this list of faq's always available they can be full answers and will be updated as knowledge is gathered.
Question 2
How do I access a faq?
Just send me an e-mail to allan@crwys.demon.co.uk, put in the subject line:- faq <subject>
and that's all. This means I can easily filter out all these requests, send the replies asap (I hope normally within 24hrs.) and then delete the request from my records. You may put any extra remarks in the message space but you don't h
ave to add anything.
Question 3
Can anyone add to the faq's?
Yes please, all contributions will be welcome but I reserve the right to edit them as I see fit in the interest of accuracy. I cannot know everything, nobody does even these gardening 'experts' in spite of their pretences, I always think
that when people publish books a large proportion is not from first hand experience, but copied from other books etc.... and so all the errors and prejudices are passed on.
