Yes , burning styrofoam (incineration) does, the soldering iron causes
a low heat and melts the styrofoam rather than incinerating it. There
are some fumes present therefore it is better to do it outside if you at
all susceptable. I like the greater depth available with the cups
allowing more room for root growth so the growing on period can be
extended. T. J.
