I think you would be better off eating pumpkins rather than eating
rotten flies, you might catch something nasty. There was an old lady
that swallowed a fly and came to a sticky end, if you remember your Burl
Ives. I doubt if the ornamental gourds would harm you though they might be
tough and tasteless.
The pumpkins I use are Baby Bear & Small Sugar.
