I can make a suggestion with one word BUCKETS. I had the same frustration you did. then I went to container gardening. Mostly for health reasons. However, I get more tomato's from my plants in containers than I ever did in the ground. I don;t have to weed. I don;t have to bend over. It is wonderful. I just have white buckets lining my driveway. Of course you can be creative and do whatever you want with them. I never paid a penny for the buckets either. I got zuchinni and green beans and wax beans. I put in pepper plans and got the most beatuful peppers you ever saw. Just about the time I thought the peppers were done along came all these blossoms. I hears someone say sweet corn could not be grown in buckets but I have never had a problem. I had 4 strawbeery plants and got 6 quarts of berries from them. In containers sitting on my deck. Sorry I am just getting too old to make things harder than what they need to be.
