I would rather be wicked than weary. :)

I sometimes think I would like a break too. And sometimes I dont do too much
out there as a kind of rest.

I think growing where there a definite strong seasons would be very
difficult. Such timing. Here I can get away with timing indescretions with
little or no repercussions.

I dont have a dormant period but when it is cool and the days very short,
things do grow more slowly.

As to frost, I rarely have it. Once in 7 years and not harsh enough to
damage the tomatoes. When I lived two miles from here I had greater
difficulty growing in the winter. But in my microclimate -- sunset zone 23
(avocado belt) -- I am on a low foothill between the mountains and the ocean
-- I can have a lush garden 12 months/yr. I start all my seeds in
containers for general ease, but in mid winter it is a must because of the
cooler ground and higher moisture. The sugar snap pea seedlings I set out
last Jan 1 were the best of the season. And lettuce is absolutely wonderful.

Janet the Wicked. And with Halloween coming up soon. :)
