My only observation about this tree is that it is
indestructible. My neighbor gave me a cutting, and
out of pure neglect I left it in a pail of water
(where it grew a tangle of roots) outdoors for nearly
a year (it wintered over) and leafed out in Spring. I
finally put it in the ground and it took beautifully.

Hello List Members:
This Sunday I purchased a Walking Stick tree. It
is still very small, planted in a two gallon pot. I am moving soon (about 2
months), so I am waiting to replant it. My questions are, how can I tell if
it is getting potbound, can it be transplanted in the fall, if I miss the
'spring window'? Also, can you prune this tree like a bonsai, or just let it
grow how it wants? Is there a web page that has more info on how to take care
of this very interesting plant?
Thank you in advance for your feed back.
