I have both. My husband started the L. bicolor from seed and out of four
plants that started, two are happy and growing well. They have come back
the past three years. The other is L. thumbergii. It was listed as L.
bicolor in the catalogue, but that tag said L. thumbergii. It does seem
a bit nicer in flower than the others.
It seems like we are blessed with several nice nurseries. Ones I
frequent include Bay State Perennials in Whately, Ma, Blue Meadow Farm in
Montague, MA, Hunting Hills in Montague MA and Old Huckle Hill Farm in
Bernardston, MA. I go to each for a differenc reason, but I can usually
fine a great variety of perennials, shrubs and roses. Nurseries are
listed in alphabetical order. If you want more specifics on each please
email me privately.
