Re: [OFF TOPIC] plant regulations

This is not a correct statement. Since plants have been on this planet there
have been MAJOR events, none that we could ever ever create, like ice ages,
comets hitting the planet causing years of dust coverage, mass extinction we
don't even understand the cause of, and THIS time in geologic history has
been unprecedented because things have been so non-eventful, with exception
to the human thing. Plants have survived these catastrophic events, they
have evolved to deal with things.
I of course am not happy to see the sort of environmental degradation
going on that does. I hate it with all my heart. I hope we change although I
am not as hopeful about that as I used to be. I have much less faith in us
as a whole than before. But just remember, we may think we're all special an
such, but if we "ruin" the planet, well only change things for us, killing
ourselves off, and some other great life forces will emerge. Life will find
a way; there are creatures living in lava, in arctic ice, miles below the
earth's surface. Life is here to stay. This is my only soothing thought.

Sorry to get way off topic here. If anyone wants to continue this thread I
think it is best we do it privately and let all these nice people talk about
woody plants.
