I have a couple of questions...
I planted a witch hazel yesterday in a spot I thought initially was
ideal-it is on the edge of the woods and gets morning sun. The digging
was easy-too easy- and I saw why as my shovel came up covered with large
black ants! I planted it anyway but now I'm wondering if there could
problems due to the ants.Any thoughts/experience with this?
My next question concerns Japanese Holly (sorry, that's the best I can do
on the name). I have three of them growing against the house, all of them
in shade and two of them are thriving. The only difference between them
is that the third one is flanked one one side by a robust patch of
Lamium(White Nancy if anyone cares) and that shrub is smaller than the
others and the foliage is dull rather than shiny. Has anyone else had
problems with White Nancy or am I pointing the finger at the wrong
party?
