Hello from Victoria BC, Canada:
I was wondering if anybody out there could supply me with a bit
of cultural information on Carpenteria californica? We have had one in
a dry mixed border for four or five years now and, while it still puts
on a magnificent bloom, it is starting to look quite straggly. How much
pruning can it stand? Is it possible to propagate this plant from
cuttings? No legitimate frost yet, clear blue skies, nice mild temps
and all kinds of stuff that has absolutley no business doing it has buds
starting to swell.
