Re: Vernal Witch Hazel


I have two witch hazels.  The one nearest the house, sold as Arnold
Promise, first showed color on Jan 15 and was in full bloom by Jan 29.
Since the flowers are a lovely orange, I assume it was mislabeled.  The
other, supposedly Diana, was ravaged by deer.  The one remaining bloom
hasn't shown color yet.  This is the first spring for both these plants,
and the winter has been exceptionally mild(a wonderful year to start my
first garden journal : ' >).
