Re: sources for campanulas/taxus

Beth,

Did a bit of a search in my bookmarked online nurseries. Couldn't find one
with 250 campanulas listed, but here are a few that carry some:

Mt. Tahoma nursery lists nearly 40, but I'm not sure if that list is
updated...you can probably email and find out. URL is:
http://www.eskimo.com/~mcalpin/rick/tahoma.htm#c

Heronswood had about 17 listed. URL is:
http://www.heronswood.com/pren2.html

H & H Botanicals lists about 27. URL is:
http://www.tir.com/~hhbotan/main.html

Roslyn Nursery lists 25, but they still have their '97 catalog up so you'd
have to request a print catalog or email them to make sure they have any
that catch your eye. URL is:
http://www.cris.com/~roslyn/perennials97.html

Willow Pond Nursery lists 18. URL is:
http://www.willowpondnursery.com/sbp05.htm

Dunno if any of these are unusual to you, but you might find something
interesting.

Roslyn Nursery has 8 Taxus listed (3 species, several cultivars). URL to
that page (you have to scroll to almost the end) is:
http://www.cris.com/~roslyn/conifers97.html

I have, over the years, bought a large number of yews from Musser Forests,
Inc.
P.O. Box 340
Indiana, PA 15710-0340
Phone: (800) 643-8319, (412) 465-5685, FAX (412) 465-9893 -- nothing
exotic but good sized plants of several species. Haven't ordered from them
for a few years, but when I did, had a good experience. They're not online
as far as I know.

You can also check Cyndi's Catalog of Catalogs©...probably the biggest list
online of nursery and seed catalogs (both on and off line). URL is:
http://www.cog.brown.edu/gardening/frame-cat.html

You ca search by type of plant now. Be aware that deer consider yew a
particularly yummy kind of candy. I have a devil of a time protecting my
hedges anymore.

Good luck!
