Re: Substitute for blue spruce


If this is too large, tyere are a number of smaller selections of Abies concolor.
I have "Compacta" which has beautiful long needles.  But I find them to be
quite brittle and prickly.

I have also seen pictures of a nice blue version of Picea englerianna. I think is was
P. e. "Glauca", but I am not sure.  I am sure that it looked really nice in the pictures.

Another interesting one is Pinus sylvestric "Bonna".  I also like Larix "Blue Rabbit", but
since it is deciduous it wouldn't work for holiday greens.
