i see from the collector's nursery catalog that just arrived three
minutes ago that they have a variegated palmatum purported to be
4-hard. i quote:
'ukigumo'
the famous floating cloud maple, a medium-size tree with green leaves
softly marbled with white and pink, giving it a somewhat ghostly
appearance from a distance. considered to be one of the most
beautiful variegated forms. it will stay green for a couple of years,
but by the third year it should start showing its unique variegation
pattern, and will become a dazzler. z4"
$15. (360) 574-3832.
anybody have any experience with this? sounds loverly, but a
variegated palmatum sounds like tender city to me. (unless
"medium-sized" really translates as "fairly large.")
