clematis for shade

Dear Rosemary,
Fine Gardening #57 had an article on clematis for shade. Plants suggested
included C. alpina (all cultivars), Nellie Moser, Comtesse de Bouchard, Mrs
Cholmondeley, Wada's Primrose (aka Moonlight, Yellow Queen), Markhams
Pink, Blue Bird, and Snow Queen. Most cultivars were successful in bright
shade, includeing the north side of buildings, planted 1' from the wall.
