Fw: cuttings

Kitty,

I think that cuttings in the house just do not do for me. I have tried lots
of different plants and they just do better outside. Even the hollies do
better outside in the winter time when one does holly cuttings. I made 2
large pots of clematis cutting tonight in the rain. They either root or not.
The other cuttings done a couple of weeks ago are still green and looking
good. I need to do some more double oakleaf hydrangeas too before it gets too
late.
I found that magnolias root better in August than June and July. I try to go
by what Dirr says in his book since he has already done the research but if
offered a cutting I take it no matter what month it is.
Nancy
