This is very interesting. Do they display the true buring red autumn color at
these times, or is it a dulled red?
You are not really adding to the confusion. I want all of the information I
can get to figure this out. This is very puzzling because this plant is known
to be one of the most reliable of all plants for fall color. Neither
temperature, moisture or light would be expected to keep it from turning. But
I am pondering all of these things anyway because I just can't figure this
out. I have several friends who are local arborists and I probably will ask
them about this. I'll let you know if I learn anything new. --Janis
