borers

Has any one hear about borers in the Forest Pansy redbud tree?  Mine was
getting too thick and crossing limbs so I got under and cut some branches out.
Then I saw the sawdust.  Unfortunally, the borers are in the main section of
the tree.  I feed the tree a systemic fertilizer and insecticide.  I hate to
use Cygon but may have to if the sawdust evidence is still there today.  The
tree is beautiful and I would hate to lose it.
Any one have any other suggestions?
