Re: Cornus kousa

It took me about 8 years to get my Cornus kousa to where it was glorious
looking (this year, in fact). It was about 3 feet tall when I bought it in
1990. It was several years before it bloomed at all and was very sparse--just
2 or 3 flowers. Today it is about 20' tall and covered with flowers. These
flowers will have only 4 bracts and they're not like the native dogwood, but
when the tree is full it's very pretty. You'll just have to be patient with
this plant and let it mature. Mine has received no special treatment--no
extra water, no feeding, etc.
