RE: Cornus kousa

Ross,
I've been lurking for awhile, but this subject has brought me out of hiding
:-)
I have a Cornus kousa that I bought about 4 years ago. It has never
bloomed, until this year. I was about ready to give up on it. I haven't done
anything different, it just decided to shine this year. When I first
realized that it had bloomed I was very excited. Then I took a close look at
the bracts. They were just as you described, small and greenish. I thought,
"this is what I waited for?". But, as the weeks went by the bracts grew
larger and a brighter white. It really looks beautiful now and I'm glad I
waited!
