storage of seed depends on the plants you are working with. Some seeds don't want to be stored long too. The fridge is a good place. Many seeds cannot tolerate the freezer, but most seeds can handle the fridge. So if you don't know what your particular species wants, safe is to do the fridge. Only a few tropicals cannot handle that. Remember there are many plants whose seeds are viable for only a while. Did you know that many plants in the genera Salix and Populus (willows, cottonwoods, aspen) have seeds that last only a matter of minutes to hours! This is why we make cuttings with these guys! Anyway, I think your current method is great unless you are storing seed for quite a while (+5 years). How long are you storing them for?

Hello!!!

I usually keep my seeds in an artight container with some silica gela at the bottom in the lower compartment of my fridge. But I've hard comments about the convenience of the use of the freezer for long term seed conservation. What's the best way to keep seed?. How do you keep your seed???. Thanks for the info!
