Hi Laura,
I mentioned that other people I have spoken with don't have
any problems with beetles on rugosas, so I must have a
special strain here, or just bad luck. These are the only
roses the beetles bother. But then, I don't grow any hybrid teas.
And Yes I am sure they are rugosas, each being a distinct
named Cultivar. I bought a bunch from a variety of sources
8 years ago based on glowing descriptions and claims of
them being "trouble free". I will eventually reclaim the area
they are growing in and plant something that works for me.
