I have a small, seed raised Sophora secundifolia (Mescal Bean Shrub)
that I am raising as a potted plant.
and I am wondering how much frost it can take without damaging the
leaves. While this particular plant may be too young to flower, I
have heard that some chilling is necessary for good flowering. It is
rated to Zone 7 and higher. I am thinking of placing it outdoors
while the temps are still quite cool - lows in the mid to upper 20's
(if it gets real cold, I can always bring it in for the night).
Any suggestions?
