Dear woodyplanters community,
With this question I would like to know if anyone of your experienced
plantpeople had ever
seen the forementioned hybrids : Carnival Red,Festival and Festival Orange
all being ofcourse
members of the Solanum capsicastrum or even capsicum annuum as it seems are
the berries or
fruits of the original species complete round but this is not the case as
with this hybrids
in their cases the shape and size of the fruit or berries is not round at
all but more
pear-shaped. This posses the following question as to the origin and the
identy of the hybrids
being questionanble. At any case it might be not at all a capsicastrum
hybrid at all but could
anyone tell me what kind of parentage is enclosed with these hybrids. The
questions comes
from the emminent plant conneseur Mr.Roy Lancaster and the possible answer
is also going onto
his hands. May I thank anyone repleying onto this matter in advance and do
hope to hear from
anyone asap. I do work for the Botanic Garden of the Free University of
Amsterdam and so pls.
find enclosed my wholehearted invitation to visit our BG.
tks Hans
