Re: Best fastigiate trees and shrubs

Don:

A fastigate Asian birch cultivar named "Fargo" was recently released
by the Plant Sciences Department at North Dakota State University.
The commercial name of this Betula platyphylla cultivar is "Dakota
Pinnacle." It should be available in small numbers from Baileys
Nursery based in St. Paul Minnesota and Lee Nursery in Fertile, MN.
It was described in HortScience 32 (7):1304-1305. It is a stiking
tree (dark green leaves, white trunk, dark brown branches, bright
yellow fall color) that should do quite well in your described
situation. And no, I don't get a kickback.
