Hi Don,
It's definitely a Sinocalycalycanthus -- a cross between Carolina allspice
and Chinese sweetshrub.
If you look at

and jump down to the section entitled 'Raulston Allspice' there's a blurb
about how they created the cultivar, the naming process, etc.
How's everyone doing? It's been so quiet!!!
