How did everyone's trees and shrubs (OK, vines too) fare this past winter?
I think I lost my Davidia involucrata that's been growing out back for
nine years; it hadn't bloomed yet.
I also lost a bunch of things that were in pots:
Franklinia alatamaha
Zenobia pulverulenta âWoodlanders Blueâ
Viburnum acerifolium
My potted Dirca palustris and Oxydendrum arboreum died back to the trunk,
but I see new growth!
Although I didn't lose many plants, I do see significant dieback. The
Akebia x pentaphylla lost most of its vines, We had Thuja lose branches
under snow, Rhododendron mucronulatum lost one side, etc.
It was a rough winter!
