Witch's brooms


Can anyone tell me what to do with these things?  I remember seeing them on
Kathy Renwald's gardening program and assumed I'd never see one in my
lifetime.  Fortunately, I was wrong; I have five (5!) on one tree.  

What's the best way to separate it from the tree?  How do I root it? Easy?
Difficult?

I would appreciate any help!
