LaceCap Hydrangea

Hi,

Several years ago I purchased two blue flowering, variegated leafed lace cap
hydrangeas (I believe the name is "Blue Wave"). They have never bloomed since
I've had them. This is their third summer in the ground. They are in compost
rich soil, with 3 hours of full sun, and then afternoon shade. I have not
pruned them at all. Everything else in this area has taken off like great
gangbusters, in fact, once growth starts in the spring, it's not long before
you can't even see the hydrangeas behind the Monarda and the anise hyssop!

What could be wrong, and what could I do to make it right?

Bettye

I have two lacecap hydrangeas and just received a "standard" hydrangea
macrophylla (pink) for Mother's Day from my mom. What really surprised me
was the incredible large amount of water it took to keep it from wilting
every day. I have to drench it at least once a day. Can't wait til I can
put it out in the garden.

I am interested in propagating one of my big ones when I cut them back (the
lacecaps have buds right now). Does anyone have any good tips?

Karen
