Re: Rhodies- severe pruning

I have seen two examples of severe pruning:
1. One of our plants in full flower was picked in the middle of the night
by someone who wanted a giant bouquet. Every branch was removed. It
recovered well within a few years.

2. A truck accident snapped off a huge old rhododendron so that only a
stump was left. It also recovered, but its valiant efforts were in vain,
as commercial development overtook its roadside spot. I hope it was moved
elsewhere.
