Thanks to all those who responded with suggestions for vines on a
utility pole. I am going to take a picture of the site and then post
a link so all can see exactly the situation.
In the meantime, is there anyone on this list growing Hibiscus
dasycalyx (Neches River rosemallow)? I have 2 nice 8-9 inch plants
from seed sown this spring. I don't expect them to be hardy in my Z5
climate, as most sources suggest Zone 7. The question for is: Do I
keep these things actively growing in my sunroom or do I let them die
back. Do they normally die back to the ground (like H. militaris) or
can they be more woody like H. syriacus?
