Some of my favorites that would do well down there include

   o Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Goshifi'
dark green leaves tipped with creamy white (beautiful!)

   o Acer negundo 'Flamingo'
green leaves with pink shoots aging to white

   o Cornus controversa 'Variegata'
green with creamy white border (might be too warm there -- should
                                     check)

   o Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy'
purple leaves fading as the season progresses

   o Daphne odora 'Aureo-marginata'
green leaves margined with yellow, evergreen

   o Robinia pseuodacacia 'Aurea'
leaves emerge yellowish, fade to lime-green (quite stunning
from a distance against a dark evergreen backdrop)

The list goes on and on... :)

There's also lots of colored conifers (might want to check with Iseli's)
available if you're into that kind of thing.

I'm more excited by tastefully variegated leaves, but I'm not sure
if that's what you want or if you'd rather have solid colored foliage.
