Re: looking for a suggestion


Hi Donna, I would suggest a fancy redbud, silver bell (Halesia) or a witchhazel )Hamamelis Diane, Jelena, Prima Vera or Amelanchier "Robin Hill"(shadblow) if you want a decidious tree. Of course, I am partial to Chamaecyparis but there are other smaller evergreens that look okay if limbed up.
I asked on this list a couple of years ago about the germination habits of the Wahoo tree (Euonymus atropurpurea). No one seemed to know but now after 2 winters, the seeds germinated. It must take two cold periods to break its dormancy. The 4 little plants are growing but very slowly to my eyes. I had no seed last year but there are seeds this season. I will have to try more since less than half germinated the last time.
