well, I don't have particularly acid soil, but they've thrived for the 8 years
I've been here. I'll have to check on the chlorosis, but I don't think
they're suffering. We have had three years of summer drought, though, and the
last two falls have also been desperately dry. All trees are stressed. I
wonder if removing lower limbs on these sassafras trees has been the shock
that caused the missing leaf variation?
I agree with you that it is wonderful to have this tree present. Are they
becoming rare?
