Fwd: David I. Theodoropoulos?

Hi Nan -

Yes, it does appear that this guy is the same entity as J.L.Hudson. Very enigmatic fellow, in my humble opinion. Several years ago, when I was first building the medit-plants web site, I found that there was interesting content in his paper catalogue that might be added to our page, providing him with some added exposure for his seed company. When I finally manage to make contact with him, he was appalled that I would 'expose' him to the evils of the internet, rendering his affairs vulnerable to all kinds of invasion from government spies and other authorities with evil intent over the American populace. He encouraged me to thwart such efforts by not participating in this grand scheme (i.e. the internet) to strip us of our personal power and take dominion of the masses. (not much of a conspiracy theorist, eh?)

It is always my intent, barring any impact upon others, to respect people's wishes (regardless of my personal opinion of those wishes), so for years I made it a point NOT to mention J.L.Hudson Seeds in e-mail or internet writings, even if I thought this might be a source for someone search of a particular seed.

Now I note that this guy has numerous web pages, domains, etc., splashing his opinions all over the place (see www.jlhudsonseeds.net, www.dtheo.com, www.antitheodoropoulos.org, ). His pages have a certain look (basic fonts, lots of bold headers, no graphic design) and viewing the source code shows the same generation tool information, yet they often would seem to wish us to believe that they were created by separate entities (not very creative). I would say that there is definitely some conspiracy relating to all of this, and it seems to be coming from the man himself.

I find the most interesting bit on these pages to be a quote from the Talmud on the www.antitheodoropoulos.org page (purportedly a place to freely criticize David I. Theodoropoulos' writings):
"We do not see things as they are
We see things as we are."

What leapt out in my mind was that this was a perfect encapsulation of what it planing observable in this fellow's writings and comments - a psychological phenomenon called 'projection', which means we tend to attribute to others deficiencies we refuse to recognize in ourselves.

Go ahead, but some of his seed if you are interested, be entertained by his curious prose, but don't take him seriously (he seems to take himself seriously enough already).

Subject: David I. Theodoropoulos?

This person's name came up on another list - is what the writer says correct? Is this the mysterious JL Hudson?

However, I do wish to comment directly about David I. Theodoropoulos. He has written a number of essays over the years, and has written a book called "Invasion Biology: Critique of a Pseudoscience." His pseudonym is JL Hudson, and he runs the JL Hudson Seedbank that he bills as "A Public Access Seedbank." I would make several points about this author:
1. His seed bank is excellent and innovative, and is truly public access. You can send in seeds and get credit with which to order other seeds. 2. He is wonderfully knowledgeable about plants, seeds, plant uses and other facets of plants, including patenting issues.
3. As near as I can tell his work is not scientific (I'm putting on my botanist hat here). By this I mean he does not publish experimental results in peer-reviewed journals of scientific societies or other accepted peer-reviewed outlets. He has published non experimental type manuscripts (essays), and he is a member of many scientific societies
The rest of the post is not relevant but I've never before heard anything revealing about the identity of this person whom I always think of as a bit like the Wizard of Oz....
