Propagation of Amorphophallus from leaflet cuttings

I haven't tried petiole sections, but I did take a number of leaflet-tip
cuttings in January 1998 from freshly-matured leaves (after someone else on
this list reported a not-quite successful attempt). All callused and rooted
readily. One of the two clones never sprouted a leaf. Two of the six
cuttings of the other clone have sprouted leaves and made tubers. It took a
full year, as long as germinating seeds. One cutting made three leaves and
tubers though.

Try it with fresh leaflets 10-20 cm long. I did some in water, some in
vermiculite-perlite. All were kept at 30 degrees C and high humidity.
Rooting hormone didn't seem to make any difference, but maybe a
shoot-inducing hormone would help if there is such a thing.
