Re: [Aroid-l] Alocasia 'Californica'

Hi Ken and everyone here,

I've just found a name - it is Alocasia odora 'California' (not Californica), but maybe they are 2 different plants?

Hi Marek,

Any time you see a plant name with the last part in single quotes you're dealing with a named cultivar. The cultivar may be a hybrid or a species with a chosen trait such as petiole color, flower color, leaf variation, larger or smaller size than normal, etc.

I might have forgotten or be ignorant of some details which I'm sure another will correct.

Hello,

Does anybody know what is the proper name of Alocasia 'Californica'.
Is it a species or a cultivar? If a species - where it comes from?
