IAS Newsletter & IAS Governing Board Vacancies

The IAS Newsletter, August edition is in the hands of our printers and should be in members’ mailboxes soon.  Articles include a Swedish Show & Plant Sale/Swap, Difficulties with transplanting a Philodendron Meconostigma, an announcement of the IAS September Show & Sale in Miami and vacancies in the Society’s Governing Board.

Membership in the IAS Governing Board involves a three-year term with a turnover of one third of the members annually.  Accordingly, there will be five vacancies.  In years past, our membership was small and enough people attended the annual banquet to achieve quorum.  As of today, we have 1,843 members from 51 nations across the globe.  Reaching a quorum at this year’s meeting will be impossible.  Consequently, we are initiating an email vote and are now seeking nominations.

An email has been sent to all members.  Members will also find instructions on submitting nominations for someone else or for oneself in this issue of the newsletter.
