Caveat emptor - "book" scam via Amazon

  • Subject: Caveat emptor - "book" scam via Amazon

Dear All,

Something unpleasant has come to light via Amazon – although it seems that Amazon itself is totally innocent.

One or more “publishers’ are offering for sale “books” on various aroid subjects that are simply print-offs of Wikipedia pages or downloads and prints of pdfs available free from BHL.

Of particular note are “publications” by a “publisher” called Books LlC  that are Wiki data dumps, and various parts of Engler’s monographic studies such as the Monographiae Phanerogamarum.
