Hi
There are a number of options - ulugurense, enneaphyllum or schimperianum
are the most likely. These are plants from seasonally wet savannha at high
altitudes. Other African species are bottae (Horn of Africa and the Gulf),
mooneyanum (Ethiopia), and another (name forgotten) from Somalia.
For the record, most of east Africa is not 'arid'; most is seasonally
(monsoon) wet grassland and there are large areas of everwet forest,
especially at high altitudes. Worth remembering that Saintpaulia originates
from Tanzania
