Thank you for your letter. I am glad that amidst my main thrusts, my subtle
requests to please join and share within our wonderfully benign, positive
go-ahead, thoughtful, kind, generous community have fallen on your fertile
Antipodean ground and that of your good friends. I hoped my evangelising
would help all the good people in Aroid L become good Members. So, there
will probably be an interlude before any further rallying calls to wait for
newcomers to Aroid-L. Regarding your last sentence, I grow living things
and disfavour taxidermy. I put this on Aroid L in which you have richly
dialogued as an accolade for your enthusiasm. The Plant Mart which I hope
will greatly enable Members with their Collections will begin in the next
interim July News.
Best Wishes & anticipating my Welcome

Subject: joining IAS
| I think most of us who are not IAS members have got the hint to join.
| I can afford to do so I WILL be doing so, however the constant badgering
| join is actually starting to put a couple of us off the whole idea (I have
| discussed this with one or two others and they agree it is very
| Do you HAVE to keep going on about it? Enthusiasm is one thing....
| bludgeoning over the head is another!!
| I've sent this directly to you rather than to the list obviously enough as
| it is a personal email. This comment is not meant personally, it is just
| comment. I've always been turned off by the hard sell on anything. Sales
| people find that out pretty quickly.
| I'm mentioning all this just to say that you might just scare people off
| the aroid-l who aren't members of the IAS. I don't think you want to do
| that as this is a good source of members.
| As I said, Please don't be offended by this email as it is not meant that
| way. If you want me to go and get stuffed just tell me and I will.
