Re: [Aroid-l] Plant being sold as Anthurium titanum

Thanks to both Tom and Ryan. Earlier this evening I stumbled upon the same answer myself. The confusion is the seller makes a point of it being similar in name to "Amor. titanum" so it did not appear to be a spelling error. I believe now the seller honestly believes the plant is "titanum" instead of "titanium". But at least we know what she's selling!

Thanks!

Steve, I did a Google on it, and the first link that came up is: http://www.aroid.org/genera/anthurium/belolonchium/titanium.html

There is a plant being sold on eBay as "Anthurium titanum". I checked TROPICOS and the International Plant Names Index and that name is not registered. The seller says it is listed as a specie by The International Aroid Society but I can't find it. Does anyone know anything about such a plant and if in fact the name used is correct or a synonym or pseudo name.

Thanks!
