[aroid-l] Amorphophallus "purple stem?"

I got a tuber of Amorphophallus "purple stem" which I understand originated with or was circulated by Dewey Fisk. He didn't answer my inquiry, so now I'm wondering if anyone else knows if a species name was ever determined for this plant?
